About Uttarakhand
Uttaranchal which is now know by Uttarkhand in the northern part of India. This is often referred to as the "Land of the Gods" due to the many holy Hindu temples and pilgrimage centers spread across the country. Uttarakhand is primarily known for its natural beauty of the Himalayas and Terai Bhabhar. On 27 November 2000 State of the Republic of India carved out of Himalayan and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh West. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region in the north, Mahakali Zone, Far Western Region, Nepal and the eastern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh in the south and northwest. The country is divided into two parts, Garhwal and Kumaon, with a total of 13 districts. The initial capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun, the largest city in the region, which is railhead. High court of state is in Nainital.
